With two separate campuses located in La Jolla and San Marcos, Delphi Academy of San Diego is a coeducational, independent, non-sectarian school, providing students with a solid academic ground. Delphi offers the ability for students to study purposefully and independently, accompanied by a rich and challenging curriculum.
For children from age four to the sixth grade, the La Jolla campus offers lower and elementary school programs, located in the central part of the seaside community. For children age four through the third grade, the Marcos campus offers a lower school program only, located off of Highway 78, in the middle of the San Marcos community.
The main focus and emphasis of the Delphi Academy falls on education of the basics in the early and most formative years, practical application and hands-on learning, ensuring your child’s full understanding, teaching children effective study habits and how to overcome the barriers of studying, independence in learning, personal attention, a rich unique, broad-based curriculum, and advancement based on demonstrated competency verses age or grade.
Student enrollment occurs during the summer prior to the up-coming school year, and during the fall terms, space permitting. Rather then being based on age or the number of months a student may have spent at one level, students are accepted based on their demonstrated competence. Those soon arriving students are given a thorough interviews and diagnostic tests, in order to design an appropriate academic program for the student.
Delphi Academy fosters a unique view gifted students are not separated from the rest of their class; they are simply presented with a custom academic program which allows each student to advance at their own pace, whatever that may be. Students are allowed to advance as rapidly as they are learning and demonstrating competence. For the other Delphi programs that include high school, it is often possible for certain students to graduate and go on to college at the earlier ages of 15 or 16.
Delphi Academy ensures that all teachers have been thoroughly trained in the teaching and study methods of the Delphi curriculum, and entirely devoted to making sure your child succeeds, regardless of pace or academic level.
