As the younger progress into the older groups, academics begin to play a much more prominent role in the core curriculum.
As a school year begins, students are presented with a chart in which they write what they know about a subject, what they want to know about a subject, and what they eventually learn about a subject. This unique approach allows students to decide the course their studies will take, and creates a sense of true ownership when it comes to their learning. A structure has also been developed for organizing different intellectual behaviors which have an importance in the learning and developing process.
